# Take time off with Slack or Teams

Use Slack Vacation Mode at session start or manually pause Work Hours for Teams, holidays, and time off during the day.

Last updated: October 28, 2026

## Does Vacation Mode work with Teams or watch all status changes?

**Vacation Mode is Slack-only**. It checks selected Slack status presets **once when a presence session starts**, not continuously throughout the day. On Slack, choose **Dashboard → Vacation Mode → Configure**, select at least one preset, and **Save**. Set the corresponding status in Slack before the session begins.

For Teams time off, or to stop immediately partway through a day, turn **Dashboard → Work Hours** off. You can also disable individual weekday switches. Remember to re-enable them when returning; the editor has no dated holiday calendar. A Teams status message does not activate Slack Vacation Mode. Pausing does not cancel your subscription.
