# Online mouse jiggler: screen awake only

Keep a reference document or instructions visible while you work. Despite the common search name, this tool is a screen wake-lock switch: it requests that your browser keep the display on. It does not jiggle a mouse or simulate activity in another application.

## Try the tool

No signup. Tool inputs stay in this page’s memory. No uploads, saved history, or account connection.

Request a screen wake lock while this tab stays visible. This cannot move your pointer, click, keep Slack or Teams active, or override device policy.

Switching tabs releases the request. Return here and start again. Battery saving or your browser can release it sooner.

Ready. Everything you enter in this tool stays local.

## How to use it

1. **Start a visible session** Open this page over HTTPS in a supporting browser and select Keep screen awake. Wait for the confirmation before relying on the request. A denied request leaves the display under its normal settings.
2. **Keep the page visible** Leave this tab visible while you need the display. Switching tabs, minimizing the browser, or changing apps can end the request. When you return, check the result and start again if needed.
3. **Finish deliberately** Select Stop when finished. Closing the page also ends its request. The tool does not automatically restart after the browser releases a wake lock.

## What a successful request means

A successful result means the browser has granted a screen wake lock for this visible page. MDN documents that power conditions and browser decisions can release it. The result updates when that happens; it is not a permanent override of device settings.

Use it for a recipe, a checklist, or a document you are reading without touching the keyboard. Keep your normal security and workplace requirements in mind when deciding whether a screen should stay visible.

## Screen state is separate from availability

A lit display is not evidence that Slack or Microsoft Teams considers you available. This widget cannot inspect either account, send presence updates, move the system pointer, or change a workplace policy. Choose a status message when your actual goal is to tell colleagues when you will reply.

## What this tool can and cannot do

- Requires JavaScript, a supporting browser, and a secure context.
- Cannot guarantee that a device will remain unlocked, prevent sleep in every situation, or keep a background session running.

## FAQ

Will this keep Teams green?

No. The request concerns the display. Teams presence is outside this tool, and no account is connected.

Why did it stop when I switched tabs?

Visible-page requirements and browser power management can release wake locks. Return to the page and select Keep screen awake again.

Is anything saved?

The tool keeps its request in memory. It creates no account, cookies, saved history, or server record of your input.
