1. Connect Slack or Microsoft Teams

Choose the platform you use and connect your account once from a desktop browser.

Connect Slack or Microsoft Teams

Open Idle Pilot in desktop Google Chrome and sign in with Google or an email magic link. Choose Slack or Microsoft Teams.
Sign in to the selected platform in the same Chrome browser. For Teams, open Teams on the web. For Slack, open your workspace.
Install the Idle Pilot extension and return to onboarding. Follow the connection steps. If Slack has several workspaces, select one. Confirm the account shown by Idle Pilot.
Wait for the dashboard to confirm the link. You can then remove the extension. Teams needs the extension for this one-time setup. Slack also has a manual fallback in the app; never send session values to support.
Set your Green Schedule days, hours, breaks, and time zone. Turn the schedule on. Your trial starts with the first successful platform link.
During scheduled hours, check your Slack or Teams presence from another account. The dashboard shows whether Idle Pilot is running; the other account confirms the platform presence.

Can I set it up from a phone?

Start on mobile and use the app's desktop handoff to continue on a computer. The one-time workplace connection needs desktop Chrome. After linking, you can manage Idle Pilot from your phone. Your computer can be closed or off during scheduled hours.

How many accounts can I connect?

Freedom Pass covers one Slack workspace or one Microsoft Teams account at a time. Switching the account stops the old link. Review the new account's schedule before you enable it.

Choose the days and hours you want to appear available. Add different hours, lunch breaks, or Vacation Mode.

Common questions about getting started with Idle Pilot

How long does setup take?

Setup starts by connecting the Slack or Microsoft Teams account you use, then choosing your Work Hours and optional breaks.

Can I use Slack or Microsoft Teams?

Yes. Freedom Pass supports one Slack workspace or one Microsoft Teams account at a time, with the same Work Hours, lunch breaks and cloud operation. Vacation Mode is currently Slack-only.

What if I do not use Chrome?

Desktop Chrome is required to link an account. If you start in another browser or on your phone, use the app's transfer link to continue in Chrome. After linking, you can manage your schedule from your preferred browser.

Can I change my schedule after setup?

Yes. You can adjust your work hours, lunch breaks, and timezone anytime from your Idle Pilot dashboard.

What happens if I turn off Idle Pilot?

Your presence immediately returns to the connected platform's normal behavior. You can turn Idle Pilot back on anytime.

Does Idle Pilot work if my laptop is off?

Yes. Once connected, Idle Pilot runs from our cloud servers. Your laptop can be closed, offline, or completely off.

How do I know if it is working?

Your Idle Pilot dashboard shows your current status (green dot with "Active until X:XX"). You can also check your activity history.

Can I connect Slack and Microsoft Teams at the same time?

Freedom Pass uses one connected platform at a time. You can disconnect it and connect the other supported platform whenever needed.
