Presence scheduling for sales professionals
Idle Pilot helps an individual sales professional schedule availability for one Slack workspace or Microsoft Teams account during hours when colleagues can reach them. The sales-teams page is about people working in sales, not a shared team product. It does not assign leads, update a CRM, route conversations, or answer prospects. Your schedule controls presence, while you handle calls, messages, and follow-through.
Illustrative situation
Illustrative scenario: preparing proposals between conversations
Imagine an account executive reviewing a printed proposal and preparing notes for an internal deal discussion. They remain reachable, although the laptop may sleep. This is an illustrative workflow, not a customer testimonial or evidence of how sales teams use Idle Pilot.
They schedule personal chat availability for the agreed work window with a lunch break. The cloud maintains availability without an open laptop. Colleagues cannot tell from presence whether the executive is reviewing a proposal or able to answer immediately.
Before a customer conversation that prevents responses, they turn Work Hours off and choose an appropriate workplace status. They resume when reachable again. Prospect follow-ups and CRM records remain their own tasks; these activities do not automatically change Idle Pilot's schedule.
Where a saved availability schedule helps
-
Define when colleagues can contact you
Choose a personal window for deal questions and proposal input, with different hours when needed. Agree response expectations separately, especially when a conversation requires your full attention; scheduled availability cannot promise an immediate answer.
-
Keep desk changes separate from availability
Paperwork or talking points can take you away from the keyboard without making you unavailable. After linking, cloud scheduling follows your saved hours. Receive and answer messages through your normal Slack or Teams arrangements.
-
Handle exceptions as your diary changes
Pause Work Hours when unreachable; edit selected days when your routine changes. Check the zone before travel. The schedule does not inspect your diary or adjust to customer meetings and events.
Set it up for your own account
- Connect your own account using desktop Chrome In desktop Google Chrome, open Idle Pilot, choose Slack or Microsoft Teams, and follow the extension connection steps. Confirm the intended workplace is connected. This links your account, not your colleagues. You can remove the extension after linking.
- Save the hours you can realistically cover Open Dashboard → Work Hours → Edit, select the days, and choose From and To. Use Apply to N days, then check the saved rows and main Work Hours switch. The editor offers half-hour choices from 6:00am to 11:00pm, with one same-day window.
- Add a break and confirm the work location's zone Enable Lunch break, set Break start and Break end inside the daily window, and apply. There is one optional break per day. Reopen Dashboard → Work Hours → Edit and choose the current time-zone button to select the intended location; a changed phone clock does not move the saved schedule automatically.
- Use mobile controls after the desktop link After linking, manage hours from your phone. Work Hours off pauses maintenance while preserving the saved schedule. Check any Re-link warning. Closing the browser or signing out leaves cloud scheduling running; use the switch to pause.
What it does not do
- It does not offer team administration, pooled access, a team license, or shared account scheduling.
- It does not connect to a CRM, update pipeline stages, assign leads, or record sales activity.
- It does not contact prospects, send automatic replies, or confirm that colleagues received an answer.
It fits when
- You are choosing a personal chat availability schedule for your own sales role.
- You remain reachable during enabled hours, even when preparation takes you away from the keyboard.
- You can pause around unavailable periods and do not need meetings to change presence automatically.
Choose something else when
- You need a manager's console to configure or monitor several representatives' accounts.
- You need lead routing, shared coverage, prospect messaging, or automated CRM updates.
- You need simultaneous availability across multiple client workspaces or both supported platforms.
FAQ
Is this a shared product for my whole sales team?
No. This page addresses individuals in sales. Freedom Pass covers one person's active Slack workspace or Teams account. It has no shared administration, team license, or manager's activity dashboard.
Will it change presence automatically when I join a sales call?
No. Idle Pilot follows saved Work Hours and the break, not calls or calendars. When unavailable, pause Work Hours before choosing a workplace status. Resume when reachable again.
Does it send prospect replies or update my CRM?
No. It does not read conversations, write replies, or update sales records. A green indicator cannot establish that a prospect's or colleague's message was read, answered, or acted on.
Can I manage it while travelling?
After linking on desktop Chrome, manage the schedule from your phone. Check the saved time zone before travel. Cloud operation continues with the laptop off; settings changes require internet access.
How do I pause for annual leave?
Pause Work Hours until returning. Slack-only Vacation Mode checks selected status presets at session start, not continuously. Teams time off uses the Work Hours or individual day switches.
How much is the individual subscription?
Freedom Pass costs $9 per month or $60 per year for one Slack workspace or Teams account at a time. These are billing choices for the individual plan, not team tiers.
