How do I connect Microsoft Teams?

  1. On a computer, open Chrome or Edge.
  2. Sign in at https://teams.cloud.microsoft/ with the workplace account you intend to connect and wait until Teams finishes loading.
  3. In the same browser profile, open Idle Pilot and choose Microsoft Teams.
  4. Follow the browser-extension connection method shown in onboarding.
  5. If the app offers several verified Teams accounts, select the intended account and choose Connect account.
  6. Wait for Microsoft Teams is connected, choose Continue, then review Dashboard and Work Hours.

The extension is only needed for the connection. You can remove it after the app confirms success. Afterwards, your laptop and browser can be closed.

What if the app offers Teams desktop on Windows?

If your onboarding screen offers Teams desktop on Windows, follow that screen's Use the script steps. Keep the Teams desktop app signed in; the screen also calls for Microsoft Edge. Use Copy script in your own setup, run it using the displayed PowerShell instructions, wait for ok, and then wait for the connected confirmation in Idle Pilot. If that method is unavailable or blocked, choose Change method and use the browser extension when permitted.

Do not assume this option is available on every computer. The browser-extension route is the general connection path. Setup commands expire after the time shown; use Start again for an expired or cancelled attempt.

How do I reconnect Microsoft Teams?

Use a computer with Chrome or Edge. Sign in to your intended account at https://teams.cloud.microsoft/ in that browser profile and let it load. In Idle Pilot, choose Re-link Microsoft Teams on Dashboard, then choose Microsoft Teams. For the browser route, choose Browser extension → Use the extension if a method choice appears. If asked, use Get the extension to install and enable it in this browser profile, or Update extension to update it, then return to Idle Pilot. If Select a Microsoft Teams account appears, select the intended account and choose Connect account. Wait for Microsoft Teams is connected, choose Continue, and review Work Hours and the dashboard status. On a phone, that action asks you to continue on desktop; it cannot finish the workplace connection on the phone.

What does Microsoft needs you to sign in again mean?

Open Teams in the same browser profile, complete any sign-in or organization prompt, then return to Idle Pilot and choose Try again. Do not send sign-in links or account details to support. If you cannot sign in to Teams itself, resolve that workplace-account issue first.

What if I see Sorry, we can't continue with Microsoft Teams?

Read the recovery message. It means the current connection cannot be used by Idle Pilot after setup even if Teams works in your browser. Follow any recovery option offered; otherwise choose another platform or contact Support. Do not keep repeating a rejected connection or assume the app can override your organization's sign-in rules.

What if Teams is temporarily unavailable during setup?

Wait a moment, confirm your internet connection, and choose Try again. A temporary reachability message is different from an instruction to sign in again. If it persists, contact Support with the visible message and approximate time, without sharing account-access details.

Why does setup say this Teams account is already linked?

It is connected to another Idle Pilot account. Check whether you signed in to Idle Pilot using a different email before. Use that existing account if it is yours, choose another Teams account, or contact Support to review the conflict. Creating another account is not a solution to an ownership conflict.

Can I connect Teams and keep Slack connected too?

No. There is one linked workplace account at a time. On a computer, use Dashboard → Switch → Connect another workspace and select the new platform. The replacement takes effect after its connection succeeds. Switching does not cancel the subscription or normally give a fresh trial.

Why is Vacation Mode missing for Teams?

Vacation Mode is a Slack-specific control. For Teams time off, turn the main Work Hours switch off or disable the relevant weekday switches. Re-enable them when you want the repeating schedule to run again.

Does Idle Pilot send Teams messages or answer calls for me?

No. It maintains availability during the hours you choose. You remain responsible for messages, meetings, and calls. The availability indicator is not proof of work, and an active indicator does not mean that a message has been read.

What if I need Teams to show Away, Busy, or another status?

Pause Dashboard → Work Hours before relying on a manually chosen status, then set the status you want in Teams. While Idle Pilot is Active, its purpose is to maintain Available. Do not assume it preserves every manually chosen status, calendar state, or meeting state.

How can I stay online on Teams?

Connect your Teams account from Idle Pilot on a computer. Then open Dashboard → Work Hours, choose the days and hours, check the time zone, and turn the main switch on. Confirm that Dashboard says Active during an enabled period. After connection, you do not need constant typing, mouse movement, or an open phone app. To stop, switch Work Hours off.

Can Idle Pilot keep Teams green when my laptop is closed or off?

Yes, after a successful connection. Idle Pilot maintains availability during your saved Work Hours independently of whether your laptop is open, asleep, offline, or powered off. Check Dashboard for Active and follow any access or Re-link warning. It does not answer Teams messages or attend meetings for you.

Does keeping Teams open on my phone keep me active?

Microsoft says Teams changes mobile availability to Away when the app is in the background. Leaving the phone app open is not a promise of all-day availability. For Idle Pilot, finish the one-time workplace connection on a computer and set Work Hours; afterward you can close the phone app and laptop and use your phone just to manage settings.

Why does Microsoft Teams show me as Away?

Teams availability can change when your computer is idle, locked, or asleep, or when the mobile app is in the background. Other workplace states can also affect what people see, so do not assume that an Away dot means no work was done. If using Idle Pilot, check Dashboard for Active, enabled Work Hours, breaks, the time zone, and any Re-link warning. Use Is this working? for the platform-specific check.

Does Idle Pilot read my Microsoft Teams chats or files?

No. Idle Pilot manages availability; it does not read or send your workplace messages, chats, DMs, channels, or files. It also does not respond to coworkers or answer calls for you. Do not send private workplace content to support when reporting an availability issue.

How long does Teams stay green?

There is no single five-minute or all-device timer to promise. Microsoft describes changes when a desktop is idle, locked, or asleep and when the phone app is in the background. It does not offer a duration setting for Available. With Idle Pilot, review your own Work Hours, breaks, and current Dashboard state instead of assuming a permanent green setting exists.

Can I schedule different Teams availability hours for each day?

Yes. On Dashboard → Work Hours → Edit, select the day or days, set From and To, add an optional Lunch break, and choose Apply to N days. Use separate edits for different patterns and day switches to disable days. Keep the main Work Hours switch on for enabled periods. Vacation Mode is Slack-only; for Teams time off, pause Work Hours or disable the relevant days manually.

How quickly can I stop or change it?

Open Dashboard and switch Work Hours off to stop Idle Pilot maintaining availability. Edit Work Hours to change future periods, or use Switch → Remove to disconnect the workplace. Slack/Teams then handles availability normally; your own activity may still show you as active. These actions do not cancel paid renewal. For that, use Manage subscription from the account menu or mobile Profile.

Why does Microsoft Teams show me as Away when I am working?

Teams availability can change when your computer is idle, locked, or asleep, or when the mobile app is in the background. Other workplace states can also affect what people see, so do not assume that an Away dot means no work was done. If using Idle Pilot, check Dashboard for Active, enabled Work Hours, breaks, the time zone, and any Re-link warning. Use Is this working? for the platform-specific check.

Does Microsoft Teams always change to Away after five minutes?

There is no single five-minute or all-device timer to promise. Microsoft describes changes when a desktop is idle, locked, or asleep and when the phone app is in the background. It does not offer a duration setting for Available. With Idle Pilot, review your own Work Hours, breaks, and current Dashboard state instead of assuming a permanent green setting exists.

How do I stop Teams from showing Away when idle?

Connect your Teams account from Idle Pilot on a computer. Then open Dashboard → Work Hours, choose the days and hours, check the time zone, and turn the main switch on. Confirm that Dashboard says Active during an enabled period. After connection, you do not need constant typing, mouse movement, or an open phone app. To stop, switch Work Hours off.

Will a mouse jiggler fix Microsoft Teams Away status?

Keeping a computer awake may affect local inactivity, but it still depends on that computer and Teams remaining usable. Idle Pilot does not move a mouse or keep the computer awake; it follows your saved availability schedule even with the laptop off after setup. Choose a method permitted by your workplace and do not treat any tool as invisible or guaranteed to resolve every Teams status issue.

Can Teams stay Available when my laptop is closed?

Yes, after a successful connection. Idle Pilot maintains availability during your saved Work Hours independently of whether your laptop is open, asleep, offline, or powered off. Check Dashboard for Active and follow any access or Re-link warning. It does not answer Teams messages or attend meetings for you.

Where can I learn how to keep Microsoft Teams green?

See https://idlepilot.com/keep-teams-active/. To use Idle Pilot, open the app on a computer, choose Microsoft Teams, complete connection, and set Dashboard → Work Hours. During an enabled period, confirm Active and use Is this working?. The guide does not replace your own organization’s rules or the app’s connection warnings.

Will a Slack presence scheduler read my messages?

No. Idle Pilot manages availability; it does not read or send your workplace messages, chats, DMs, channels, or files. It also does not respond to coworkers or answer calls for you. Do not send private workplace content to support when reporting an availability issue.

Can Idle Pilot read my Slack or Microsoft Teams messages?

No. Idle Pilot manages availability; it does not read or send your workplace messages, chats, DMs, channels, or files. It also does not respond to coworkers or answer calls for you. Do not send private workplace content to support when reporting an availability issue.

What is the best app to keep Microsoft Teams green?

Start with your needs: whether the computer can be off, permitted setup, schedule controls, and price. Idle Pilot supports one Teams or Slack account at a time and continues your saved Work Hours after the computer closes. Connect on desktop, configure Dashboard → Work Hours, and use Is this working? during the trial. This support knowledge does not rank other apps or verify their current offers.

Can I set Teams to Available for a fixed time?

Microsoft does not offer a status-duration setting for Available. In Idle Pilot, use Dashboard → Work Hours → Edit, select days, set From and To, and apply. Enable Work Hours and check Active during that window. This schedules Idle Pilot’s availability action; it is not a change to the duration options in Teams.

How does a cloud service keep Teams Available?

For Idle Pilot, connect Teams once on a computer, choose Dashboard → Work Hours, set the days, From/To, break, and time zone, then turn the switch on. Check Active during your selected hours. After setup, you do not need to keep your computer or phone app open. To stop, switch Work Hours off. No mouse movement or automatic replies are involved.
