Generate a Slack status message

Write a short explanation of what you are doing and when you expect to respond. Choose an occasion and tone to create a deterministic draft with a separate emoji suggestion. Everything happens in the page; this is a template helper rather than an AI or account integration.

Try the tool

No signup. Tool inputs stay in this page’s memory. No uploads, saved history, or account connection.

Include the time zone when colleagues work elsewhere. This is text, not a scheduled reminder.

Review the draft before pasting. Nothing is sent or scheduled, and generating a message does not change your availability dot.

Ready. Everything you enter in this tool stays local.

How to use it

  1. Pick the situation Choose focus time, a meeting, lunch, a short break, or remote work. Plain gives a direct draft, Friendly adds a warmer ending, and Concise leaves out the urgent-contact detail to keep the message short.
  2. Add useful details Optionally enter a return time and an urgent contact. Include a time zone if colleagues work elsewhere. Use a channel or role when it is clearer than a personal contact, and avoid sensitive details.
  3. Edit before using Select Generate draft, then edit Your editable draft. Copy text copies the words only; select the suggested emoji separately in Slack. If automatic copy is blocked, the tool selects the draft for manual copying.

Short messages are easier to act on

The generator uses a 100-character drafting target for Slack text. If a template exceeds that target, it asks you to shorten the details or choose Concise instead of silently cutting off a sentence. Manual edits show a character count and a warning above the target.

For a useful status, prioritize the task and expected reply time. For example, a meeting note with a return time often answers more than a vague busy message. The output is a starting point: confirm that the timing and contact are accurate.

Set the result yourself

Open your Slack profile, use Update your status, paste the text, and choose an emoji and expiry. Review the result in Slack before saving. Writing status text does not itself determine your active or away availability.

Clear fields and draft restores the tool’s choices and empties your work. Closing the page also ends the in-memory session. Nothing is automatically sent, scheduled, or synchronized.

What this tool can and cannot do

  • Templates do not read your calendar, check contact names, or verify when you will return.
  • Copying can require browser permission; manual selection remains available. Slack controls what it accepts when you paste.

FAQ

Will this change my Slack availability?
No. You receive text and an emoji idea, with no account connection or presence update.
Why do I get the same text twice?
The templates are deterministic. The same choices produce the same draft, making the result predictable and editable.
Can I write my own draft?
Yes. Type directly into the output field, review the character count, and use Copy text when ready.
